Vice President, Patient Services
Kathy DeRuggiero is vice president of patient services for Johns Hopkins Medicine International. She collaborates across Johns Hopkins Medicine to ensure diverse patient populations from the United States and abroad receive quality care before, during and after their visit to Johns Hopkins.
Kathy has 36 years of experience at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and 39 years as a nurse. She began her career as a staff nurse in critical care and emergency medicine at what is now Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. Before leaving Bayview, she served as the nurse manager for surgery and neurosciences. She was The Johns Hopkins Hospital's director of nursing and critical care transport for 13 years before coming to JHI.
She holds a doctorate in nursing practice, with a focus in leadership development, and a master’s degree in nursing, with a focus in administration, from the University of Maryland, Baltimore.
